I wanted a source of of light that remained playful and unobtrusive. Creating an object that sits still yet appears in motion.
The initial shape was made by sculpting a brick of clay into a form that felt comfortable to the touch.
Final prints made with resin and cured in isopropyl alcohol.
Once cured, then assembled.
For about 6 months that's all that Blob was. However, in July Blob was invited to the Stockholm Furniture Fair. The goal was then made:
Make two more, and make them better in every way.
The new and improved Blob(s) now have cork inlays on the bottom, aluminum threaded bolt inserts, and hidden screws. Combined with stronger rechargeable batteries. They are completely mobile, unique, and convenient for whatever your evening may bring.
