A concept shoe designed for Salomon, bridging their sport-style market with the company's rich winter sports heritage. An aprés ski shoe inspired by the past and made for the future with a deployable gator for extra protection.
Utilizing the existing XT4 tooling enables the production cost of the shoe to be lower keeping the FOB price around $35. The projected MSRP is $125.
The addition of a deployable gator enables the user to have the duality of a slip on shoe, and the protection of a snow shoe while making the journey to and from the mountain.
The question quickly became how might we attach the gator to the shoe? My answer was developing a Salomon branded "S" clip that enables you to attach and detach the gator from the shoe with ease.
